7NEWS Sydney and Brisbane have gone to war one day out from the State of Origin opener. The two broadcasts decked themselves out in NSW blue and Queensland maroon — but that’s not all.
Battlelines drawn as 7NEWS presenters show true State of Origin colours. The NSW sport team rolled out a list of 50 things they hate about Queensland. And among those ‘things’ were naturally “Queenlanderrr” and “bogan accents” ... but Reece Walsh, Xavier Coates, Daly Cherry-Evans, Valentine Holmes, cane toads, the word ‘maroon’, crocodiles, and Four X beer also made the brutal cut. As for the Queenslanders — led by Maroons great Shane Webcke — they didn’t take the bait.
