Buckle up, Austin. They're back. The Amazon-owned company, Zoox, announced Wednesday they are launching a pilot program to test their self-driving cars in Austin.

Last October, CBS Austin spoke to Austin City Councilmember, Paige Ellis, about self-driving car companies using Austin as their trial runs. Zoox is currently under investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after they received two reports of Zoox autonomous cars unexpectedly braking, leading to rear-end collisions in California.

"It's just more of a headache all the time than it is a positive thing," said Austinite, Brandon Gonzalez.
