Presidential candidate Donald Trump is returning to Florida — and his legal reality as a convicted criminal — after a campaign swing through America’s southwest. The 77-year-old is understood to be preparing for a virtual interview from his Palm Beach home tomorrow, with a New York parole officer. It’s believed his lawyer, Todd Blanche, will sit with him for the duration of the interview.
In an hour-long address at his first campaign rally since the conviction, Donald Trump told supporters the US Department of Justice had been “weaponised” against him, but he made no direct mention of his conviction. Others did. Warm-up speaker Marjorie Taylor-Greene, a Republican congresswoman, even drew a comparison with Jesus. “The man that I worship is also a convicted felon,” she said. “And he was murdered on a Roman cross.
