The Sydney Swans are on the cusp of announcing a contract extension for young forward Logan McDonald, according to 7NEWS Perth’s Ryan Daniels. The AFL premiership favourites have enjoyed a stellar 11-1 start to the season boosted by key re-signings. Will Hayward put pen to paper on a five-year deal just last week to join Errol Gulden and James Rowbottom in making long-term commitments so far this season.
” McDonald played just seven games in his debut season in 2021 but has flourished since, playing 17 the following year before being a tough omission for the grand final. He kicked 32 goals in 20 games last year and is tracking even stronger so far in 2024. The 22-year-old has 19 goals from 12 games so far, and on the only two occasions he has gone goalless he has still contributed three direct assists. Sydney, meanwhile, are just one win away from matching last year’s total of 12.
