Code 34 has closed down in Market Street

A Nottingham city centre bar has been seized by the landlords. Forfeiture notices have gone up in the windows of independent cocktail bar Code 34 and all the red illuminated signage and lights have gone.

But the street food business pivoted after the pandemic, with the franchisee teaming up with two student entrepreneurs who founded the bar Code 34. After initially opening in April 2021 under the coronavirus restrictions with just two tables outside, it expanded into the basement with a speakeasy style bar.

"No one can lawfully enter the premises unless they have been given authorisation by the landlord. Any attempt to enter the premises without the landlord's authority may be a criminal offence and result in a prosecution."
