A man has brazenly stolen $10,000 worth of mobile phones from a store in Melbourne’s southeast using a pair of scissors. The man walked into the store on Springvale Rd in Glen Waverley and used the scissors to rip the display phones from their security wires at 5pm last Sunday.

Moment a brazen thief makes off with $10k worth of mobile phones. As he did so, CCTV footage shows shoppers casually walking past without appearing to notice what is happening. A female store attendant walks towards the bandit at one stage and he threatens her with the scissors before fleeing the store on an electric scooter with the merchandise. The thief was wearing a long black braided wig at the time of the incident and is described as Caucasian, aged in his late 20s and about 180cm tall.
