Melbourne debutant Kynan Brown helped his side hang on for a three-point win over North Melbourne with a desperate tackle in the dying stages. Brown, who started the game as the substitute, entered the match in the final quarter and made the most of his limited minutes with a stunning play.
Brown’s match-saving tackle. The Demons were clinging to a three-point win lead when the surging Roos looked set to for another forward 50 entry. Luke Davies-Uniacke burst clear of a stoppage and handballed over to Nick Larkey before Brown came from nowhere to complete a run-down tackle and win a free kick. The Demons were able to then run down a bit of the clock and held their nerve in the dying stages as one final attack by North came up short.
