Houchens Food Group, the Kentucky-based company that owns Fordyce's Mad Butcher grocery store in Arkansas, has released a statement following the "We are deeply saddened by the shooting incident that occurred Friday at the Fordyce Mad Butcher grocery store, which is owned and operated by Houchens Food Group," the statement reads. "We're thankful for the rapid response from local authorities who apprehended the suspect and secured the area. Corporate and store officials are fully cooperating with law enforcement during the investigation. The store will remain closed until the investigation concludes.
Police say that they received calls reporting a shooting incident at Mad Butcher at 11:38 a.m. on Friday morning. Arkansas State Police confirmed that 14 people were injured during the shooting. Eleven civilians were shot, along with two law enforcement officers. Three people were fatally wounded.
