10 years later Mission Solar Energy is growing strong and doing well. It manufactures residential solar panels to companies across the country. Mission Solar just expanded its manufacturing facility by another 200,000 square feet, nearly doubling its size. Ochoa says since opening the facility on the southeast side a decade ago, they’ve truly grown with the community.

"So what was about 2700 jobs is now close to 5500 jobs right here at Brooks,” says Chief Strategy Officer at Brooks Connie Gonzalez.
