The Queensland Maroons are furious with the decision to use vision of Reece Walsh being flattened as part of the promotion for State of Origin’s Game II. The Blues’ Joseph Sua’ali’i was sent off and suspended for four games after taking out Walsh with a brutal hit in Game I. Now, broadcaster Nine has used part of the sickening hit in its advertisement to promote the second game at the MCG.

” News Corp papers also came under fire ahead of Game I for “inciting violence” against Walsh. Part of the build-up included headlines such as ‘Reece Trap’, and regularly referred to Walsh as a ‘pretty boy’. In fact, one headline read, ‘Let’s bury the pretty boy’. The Daily Telegraph also quoted former legend Ben Elias who called a “lair” and said he should be “obliterated” from the game.
