A man and woman have been rushed to hospital in Perth after suffering suspected carbon monoxide poisoning from burning charcoal. The pair, aged in their 50s, was discovered unconscious and unresponsive inside the bedroom of a Westminster home by their teenage children just before 12.45pm on Tuesday.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services acting district officer Luke Miles said the charcoal had been burning in an unvented bedroom at the home where the family recently moved into. “They were using as a heating source in the bedroom ... where both of the casualties were located,” Miles said.
