The company says its shutting down dozens of 'under-performing' stores because of tough economic challenges.

SAN ANTONIO — The restaurant chain Hooters has been hit with another wave of closures, including a popular location here in San Antonio.of underperforming stores because of tough economic challenges. About 40 of its restaurants are shutting down across the country. The company said rising food and labor costs were major factors in the decision. This also comes after restaurant chain Red Lobster announced closures for similar reasons.

Here in San Antonio, the River Walk location was one of the stores the company chose to shut down Sunday. The restaurant was located the shops at Rivercenter.KENS 5 has brought numerous firsts to South Texas television, including being the first local station with a helicopter, the first with its own Doppler radar and the first to air a local morning news program.
