Reduced capacity = increased demand = increased prices. For the same crap service. There recommendations will only benefit the train operators pockets!

Good.Selling standing seats on long distance trains shouldn’t be allowed .Train companies like GWRHelp over sell and then say they have to close buffet cars due to overcrowding because they can’t get down the aisles

Something like that will help make rail travel more affordable for more people, especially those on low incomes. Will improve quality of life.

That’s how it’s done for long trips in Europe. Cheap, guaranteed a seat and is very civilised. Also, the trains are high speed and have about 12 very long carriages, clean and quiet. Not the 4 or 5 that some services put on. They would need to do the same.

Virgin can't can't operate a reliable service, so they want everyone else to change to suit them?! Presumably they'll still sue the government when they still can't make a profit, under they're own system?

So they’ll be reducing fares then?
