Here we are eight years later, and the gaming side of that setup hasn’t really worked., he thought that the super robot sub-genre of mecha was mostly untapped and showed a lot of promise. He wasn’t and isn’t wrong about that, but super robots tend to have a problem when they enter an action game framework.in a second, but it’s worth explaining this upfront.

This is compounded by the fact that the combat side of the game is incredibly dull and repetitive. Each area is split into chunks, with you downing enemies in each locale only to move onto the next. With almost every mission ending in some kind of boss fight against a bigger and tougher version of the enemies you fought up until that point.In addition, due to the role-playing game backend, you can very easily over level your mecha and just destroy everything with very little skill involved.
