Kota Kinabalu: Bridging the knowledge regarding oil and gas industry through mentorship is vital for Sabah-based companies to compete effectively in the sector as it plays a significant role in the State’s economy.

State Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Permanent Secretary Datuk Thomas Logijin said the oil and gas industry in Sabah was one of the most obvious sectors that has been contributing to the State’s revenue.“The industry generates significant revenue, creates employment opportunities, and fuels our state’s development.

Also present were SOGSC President Datuk Harris Anuar Tan, PKPBS President Safian Saludin, MOGSC President Syed Saggaf Syed Ahmad and SMJ Energy Sdn Bhd Corporate and Oil & Gas Services Executive Director Terry Biusing.And with such knowledge, he said these industry players will be able to equip themselves with the apt skills that is needed to carry out their respective task while at the same time solve problems efficiently, if any.

“I am confident that the programme will be instrumental in building a robust and future-proof oil and gas sector in Sabah,” he added. During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was reached and signed between Seatech Engineering & Maintenance Sdn Bhd and Carrier Rental Systems Asia Pte Ltd.
