Dr M 'meets' Malaysian students back home during Beijing visit to Huawei

He chatted with the students, who are undergoing the Seeds for the Future programme, conducted by the world's biggest telecommunications equipment maker.Meanwhile, during his time at the research centre here, the Malaysian Prime Minister also met with Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei.

They discussed ways to leverage information and communications technology to better facilitate Malaysia's economic development. Dr Mahathir, here on a five-day visit, was also briefed on the company's 5G technology, cloud services and other smart applications. His main task in the Bejing capital is to attend the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, during which he will address a high-level meeting and a leaders' roundtable sessions.

The Prime Minister will also meet with Chinese President Xi Jingping and Premier Li Keqiang to discuss bilateral issues later today.
