Speaking on a Wednesday afternoon conference call with investors in response to a question posted online, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company planned to start selling insurance soon.
Tesla stock was about flat in recent after-hours trading. Musk didn’t add substantial additional detail to his comments about insurance, though he did make a few other noteworthy statements—including the assertion that there is now “some merit” to the idea of raising capital, which he has resisted. But Musk also said he preferred to run the company lean—and he didn’t see funding as a constraint on Tesla’s ability to grow.
He's thinking HARD on how to control (and hide) cost and earn a profit.
