The victim of a stabbing attack at Sydney University on Tuesday has been revealed as a psychology student who is writing his thesis while researching brain disorders. Melvern Kurniawan, 22, was allegedly stabbed in the neck with a knife by a 14-year-old boy at the university’s Camperdown campus on Tuesday morning.
“I hope to use my experience and knowledge of the relationship between the brain, behaviour, and psychology to assist people across diverse settings,” his LinkedIn page, now unavailable, states. Following the alleged attack, counter-terrorism police are now involved in the investigation. Police have repeatedly said there was no ongoing risk to the community.
