Acquisition increases total Circle K locations in Ireland to 419, but requires competition watchdog approval

Photograph: Naoise CulhaneCircle K has bought nine forecourts and convenience stores in Ireland from retail group Pelco. Seven of the locations are based in Dublin with one each in counties Meath and Westmeath.

The acquisition, announced on Friday, is subject to approval by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission . The forecourt in Co Meath will be in Batterstown while the new store in Co Westmeath will be on the Robinstown Road in Mullingar. Managing director Ciara Foxton said it was part of Circle K’s growth strategy and would help enhance the company’s network of stores across the State.
