Abigail Disney has a point. Paying rank-and-file workers more can boost a company's productivity. | Analysis by lydiadepillis

In fact, Americans may have grown accustomed to the idea that C-suite executives would take home tens of millions of dollars a year, while the rank and file see their wages rise by a few percent. Enter Abigail Disney. Last weekend, the granddaughter of the Walt Disney Company's co-founder scolded the company over CEO Bob Iger's $65 million pay package and started a broader conversation.

Although shareholders now have the right to vote on how much they're paying the CEO, they typically rubber-stamp the board's recommendation, as long as the stock price remains healthy. Little consideration, however, is typically given to how competitively the company is paying workers on the lower end of the wage spectrum — despite research showing that higher wages make a bigger difference for people who weren't making much money to begin with.

lydiadepillis No she doesn’t. They don’t pay rank and file workers more because of the shareholders, like herself. If she really felt that strongly about it she would push for workers to gain shares of the company, maybe some of her own inherited shares.

lydiadepillis And reduce its profit margin. That is the trump method of management.

lydiadepillis Disney is now Pedo-ville. Never go back. No regrets.

lydiadepillis My mom and dad worked at Disney on Pinocchio, Bambi and Fantasia. My mom made $17 a week as an airbrush artist and my dad made $100 as an editor, in 1939

lydiadepillis But do rank & file workers ever feel like they make enough

lydiadepillis We need a Federal Profit Sharing Wage where certain % is set for Entry Lvl - CEO so business owners can’t keep raising prices to keep rich rich/poor poor How much supply can exist til demand side is spread so thin profits are minimal? Also mathmatically everyone can’t be a boss.

lydiadepillis If a company cannot afford to pay a worker who works 40 hours a week a living wage, maybe they shouldn't be in business.

lydiadepillis Paying employees a decent wage they can live on should be universal. Greed is the only barrier to that outcome!

lydiadepillis Wow, who’d a thunk 😵

lydiadepillis T pose

lydiadepillis When she becomes CEO she’ll have her policy opportunity. Disney will continue to have Americans train Indians to do their job, then be fired.

lydiadepillis I know I work harder the more money I make. It took them this long to figure that out?

lydiadepillis I HAD PULSING A ON LEFT LOWER BACK OF MY HEAD AND he WANTED his PHONE BACK THATS WHY GAVE BACK PHONE YESTERDAY

lydiadepillis I AND I JUDGEMENT MEANING OF I 12:13 SAW Q FOR THOSE DREAMS(U KNOW) ARE SIGNS THAT COUNT ON 181 MA R I JAS ON FE RING(FOREVER FLAME) I ACCEPT THAT THOSE DREAMS ARE SIGNS AND COUNT

lydiadepillis More then a point. CEO’S pay is completely out of control

lydiadepillis 😮😇😍

lydiadepillis Socialist goal of destroying middle class being sneaked in through massive minimum wage hikes. Same people who say buy local are actively pushing for measures that would make it impossible for anyone but giant corporations to stay in business.

lydiadepillis Yes you are correct. I think most companies who received that big tax break are taking that $Break$ and feeding it back to Trumps 2020 campaign. I think he master minded this whole thing. Look at WWE and the McMahons. That’s what they’re doing and losing their WWE audience. 👏🏼👏🏼

lydiadepillis How about not gouging on admission and food in the park?

lydiadepillis Yeah, because you fire half the workers and tell the remainder that they're history too if production drops. Then when production eventually drops, and it will, you replace the remaining workers with robots and get better production then ever before.

lydiadepillis This is nothing new at all. The hard part to doing this, which is the right thing, is getting sr exec management to acccept a budget that includes the large expense.

lydiadepillis Treating tank-and-file workers like people makes them more productive too... just saying

lydiadepillis And morale.

lydiadepillis change the 666 symbolism in the name Disney

lydiadepillis

lydiadepillis Better than the 25 cents an hour anyway
