Stunt performer Wayne Wells, with 35 years in the business, is headed to Sudbury this weekend to help Northern Ontario Stunts train new stunt performers, riggers and safety personnel

Stuntman Wayne Wells, coming to Sudbury to offer a stunt seminar July 13-14, told Sudbury.com that stunt performers have a saying.

While the film business in Northern Ontario is booming, there is a gap in the number of trained stunt performers here, requiring film studios to hire out of Toronto, which can be more costly, said Wells. He said ideally, they are looking for people who are fit, but more than that, someone who has “body awareness.”

Wells said there are three avenues to pursue if one is interested in stunt work: performing, safety coordination, and rigging. “Because we're going to fill that club with as much knowledge as possible. It is a hands-on two day program.”
