Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO James Pearson says AustralianLabor's move to increase the wages of childcare workers is 'very concerning.' speers auspol

Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO James Pearson says Labor's move to increase the wages of childcare workers is 'very concerning.' On Sunday, Labor announced early childcare educators would get a taxpayer funded wage increase of more than $11,000 over eight years.

Childcare workers are among the lowest income earners, with full time employees on average earning $45,000 per year. The Coalition has dismissed the plan, with Education Minister Dan Tehan calling the policy 'a bribe.' Mr Pearson told Sky News the government should not intervene in the private sector. He says only Fair Work Commission has the remit to determine whether low paid workers can secure a pay rise.

AustralianLabor So explain to me how it is that CEO's salaries can rise over 10* inflation and workers get nothing James?

AustralianLabor Shock James Pearson mocks labor policy . That’s why you put him on yet to hear you say anything positive about any labor policy. Even Murray mocked labor fo only giving 1,000 for dental care.

AustralianLabor Pay rise for glorified baby sitters blahaha what a joke

AustralianLabor Childcare workers are very concerned about the claims of James Pearson re their pay and conditions

AustralianLabor So when do we put politicians on minimum wage then?

AustralianLabor Spoken by a man who probably earns over $100,000 . 🙄

AustralianLabor This just shows how out of touch Labor and Shorten are. It’s got to be another Bowen brain fart! Nothing more than an attempt to buy votes.

AustralianLabor Yeah they should wait for it to trickle down

AustralianLabor The budget should be balanced debt reduced - the arrogance of officialdom should tempered-assistance to foreign lands curtailed Cicero 55 BC

AustralianLabor Of course he does 🤦🏻‍♂️ “He says only Fair Work Commission has the remit to determine whether low paid workers can secure a pay rise.” 🤔The Fair Work Commission stuffed full of LNP shills 🤦🏻‍♂️ Fair🤷🏻‍♂️ nothing Fair about it 🤷🏻‍♂️

AustralianLabor Paying childcare workers a decent wage isn’t ‘concerning’, it’s fair. What’s concerning is the $$$ politicians line their pockets with now & every year after they leave politics. What’s concerning is Taylor & Joyce wasting our money on water that doesn’t exist. auspol watergate

AustralianLabor Well your trickle the fuck down version is workin a treat isn't it, you lot won't even instigate it for your prick mates in power but the TRICKLE UP VERSION you and your cronies in office come up with is workin a fucken treat. To the tune of $80M over the weekend.

AStrongerOZ AustralianLabor Wage increases are great until income - expenses = LOSS and then people lose their jobs as businesses are unable to be financially viable. This makes no sense... again !

AustralianLabor Paying people a decent living wage to look after your kids is 'concerning'...the trumpificatiom of Australia is complete

AustralianLabor Concerning to who? Grubs like dutton who own multiple child care centres?
