Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with a fire which killed two people in Melbourne’s west earlier this year. A panel shop on Bunnett St in Sunshine North was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived just after 4am on February 23. A white dual cab ute is believed to have pulled up outside the business just before 4am, when a male got out of the car and emptied the contents of a jerry can on the factory door.

On Tuesday morning, police arrested three male teenagers in Kurunjang and Melton South. Two 19-year-olds and one 18-year-old were taken into custody and were being interviewed by police. Police also seized a gel blaster from a Kurunjang address, while officers said a sword, two machetes, two knives and a quantity of what appears to be cannabis were found at one of the homes in Melton South.
