Labor cools talk of expanding childcare wage supplement to aged-care | CroweDM

"There's a model, a template which we will only use in childcare," Mr Shorten said. The comments came one day after Mr Shorten appeared to leave the door open to extending the childcare pay scheme to other industries, when he said on Monday: "We have picked childcare workers to go first."

Mr Shorten's remarks answer a challenge from Education Minister Dan Tehan on Tuesday morning to explain whether other sectors would get the same wage supplement."What other sectors are they going to use taxpayers' money to pay for wage increases? This is, this is extraordinary, and it is just purely and utterly a bribe to the unions.

Leading Age Services Australia, which represents aged-care providers, has launched an "I care for aged care" campaign and said on Monday that its sector needed more support. Bill Shorten has promised a 20 per cent pay rise for childcare workers, who are"underpaid" and"highly trained"."The solution we've looked at for early childhood educators is a recognition that nothing else has worked. They are underpaid, they are highly trained and it's long overdue that we do the right thing."

CroweDM Why is it Labor always seems incapable of foreseeing the effects of so many of their policies? The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

CroweDM What did u think would happen Bill. Socialism at its best. Another dumb thought bubble - pink batts, clunkers, now solar spend - where does it end? Is it just Bill dreaming this up or are there more morons in the Labor side than already evident?

CroweDM The circle of life - Under Labour we may need to put our elderly into childcare and follow the money? Humour?

CroweDM MORE FAKE NEWS. You've pulled a fake Labor policy right out of your ass. There's nothing about extending it to other sectors, but don't let that get in your way of just making up a scare campaign out of nothing to rig the election for the LNP. auspol
