US firm Cynet Systems wrote in the job description the candidate would be ‘preferably Caucasian who has a good technical background including knowledge of RPA’. The company promoted the account manager role on numerous employment networks including LinkedIn, Glassdoor and Zip Recruiter.Thousands have taken to Twitter to call out the company, after the advert went viral. Many social media users said they were confused over the advert, as the company’s CEOs Nikhil Budhiraja and Ashwani Mayur, are Indian-American.

Florida-based coder Helena McCabe, who tweeted the listing, wrote: ‘How could you POSSIBLY think that’s okay?’Cynet tweeted from its official account saying they ‘truly regretted’ the actions of the employers involved in the ‘offensive job post’, who were sacked immediately. A statement from CEO Mayur read: ‘We understand why some may have been upset seeing this listing, because we were too’.
