Aston Martin's dealership at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town was the setting for the glittering event.
A replica of the 2013 F1 title-winning car driven by Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber was on display. The event took place in the run-up to former Red Bull driver David Coulthard's visit to Cape Town in June to drive the RB9 car in the city centre. It's only 950mm in height and was designed by Adrian Newey, Rob Marshall and Peter Prodromou who was head of aerodynamics.
It used a 2.4-litre naturally-aspirated V6 Renault engine mated to a 7-speed semi-automatic gearbox. Vettel was utterly dominant in the RB9, claiming 13 wins in the season, including nine victories in a row. Coulthard, currently working as an F1 TV pundit, will drive the RB7 in Cape Town on June 2 2019 as part of a world tour. It'll be all systems go come early June when Coulthard is strapped into the Red Bull racer. Aston Martin is one of Red Bull F1 team's main sponsors. Related Links
