Facebook launches major redesign, hoping to encourage more group interactions amid public pressure over social-media discourse

Facebook Inc. rolled out a substantial redesign of its website and mobile app, geared partly toward steering users to participate in more group conversations as the company strives to reduce abusive content and the scrutiny resulting from it.

One casualty of the changes: the iconic blue Facebook banner that has appeared atop screens since the social network’s 2004 debut.

I'm sure it will still suck.

Not much credibility. Seeing upgrade is a good idea, far to late though. Facebook should have an anonymous mode and then allow Twitter like discussion with anyone on a public feed.
