'Here we have got a crisis of nyaope and crystal meth.'

Residents of Ga-Masemola outside Lebowakgomo in Limpopo have raised concerns about drug abuse and dealing in their area. The residents say substance abuse, specifically nyaope and crystal meth, has contributed to an increase in criminal activities. The community is appealing to law enforcement agencies to intervene.“Here we have got a crisis of nyaope and crystal meth. Unfortunately, that crystal meth and nyaope, they are being sold by one of our community members.

But if we can put our hands together we can overcome this. Nyaope has destroyed our nation. Nyaope has destroyed our brothers, our sisters. We are very, very hurt because of this influence of nyaope on our village. As I am speaking, it is with a heavy heart as I have a brother who is an addict. But I think together we can, as we are now, have this campaign of sweeping drugs out of our village.
