ACT spokesperson Mohau Khumalo says Cholota was surrounded by heavily armed Interpol, Hawks and SAPS officers as if they were escorting a terrorist.She is one of the accused in the Asbestos corruption case involving the former Free State Premier Ace Magashule and others.She is expected to make her first appearance in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Khumalo says Cholota does not pose any threat to anyone and does not deserve the mistreatment she has received. “The police’s grandiose arrival at the airport was only a theatrical display intended to scare an innocent woman who happened to be a mother and what was even worse and most regrettable happened on the eve of Women’s Day. We as ACT will never tolerate and fold our arms when we see our fellow women being mistreated by the country or by the government that is supposed to protect them.”
