Cyril RamaphosaRamaphosa says many people sacrificed everything they had during the apartheid era to secure the right of all South Africans to vote.
Polling stations open nationwide at 7 o’clock Wednesday morning and will close at 9pm. The President says people must make use of the opportunity. “Fellow South Africans it is 25 years since we all won the right to vote. On Wednesday the 8th of May all South Africans will once again have an opportunity to decide their own destiny. The day has been declared a public holiday so as to allow all registered voters to go and vote for the party of their choice in national and provincial elections, in doing so together we will be exercising the right that was won through decades of struggle and sacrifice.
