Uber drivers are to go on strike on Wednesday - 24 hours before the minicab company's stock market flotation.
Drivers in cities across the UK, including in London, Birmingham, Nottingham and Glasgow, are holding protests, as well as a nine-hour boycott of Uber's app.The United Private Hire Drivers branch of the Independent Workers Union of Great Britain said the flotation was happening at the same time as drivers' pay issues remain unresolved.
Spokesman James Farra said:"Uber's flotation is shaping up to be an unprecedented international orgy of greed as investors cash in on one of the most abusive business models ever to emerge from Silicon Valley."It is the drivers who have created this extraordinary wealth but they continue to be denied even the most basic workplace rights."More from UK
Lol Check the passenger App. There are loads of drivers working.
Why is there a photo of a registered cab. Instead of the dodgy cars uber drive.
Why are you using a picture of a black taxi when doing a report on Uber? Uber drivers are not London black taxi drivers.
As in Argentina
Uber please stop delivering McDonald's be quicker to go for it myself ,,twice over
Ban em
Please change that picture of a licensed black taxi and don’t associate it ever with Uber
And the standards of private hire vehicle driving will improve whilst they are out
Great shout o wait I’m self employed 🤦♂️🙈 those Uber drivers bless um 1 star rating
What does your picture showing a licensed London black cab have to do with a mini cab firm? Why don't you put up a picture of a Toyota Prius? There must be a few undamaged ones left
Get a better job
Lol they are self employ
