ANC, DA shed support in General elections via SABCNewsOnline

The ANC will have a significantly reduced presence in the National Assembly after securing 57.5% of the national vote.

South Africa’s sixth general election of the democratic era has seen the ANC and the DA shed support and the EFF, IFP and FF-Plus gaining in popularity.The DA comes in second with just over 20%.The IFP has staged a comeback in KZN and has secured over 3% of the national vote, while the FF Plus impressed with its strong showing almost trebling its support to over 2% of the national ballot.

Meanwhile, the APC failed to make it to the National Assembly, which means that its only MP, Themba Godi who was the SCOPA chairperson won’t be returning to the national legislature.
