Food insecurity can impact any community, even those that seem affluent -- Delaware County, known for its rapid growth and wealth, is no exception.

At Mid-Ohio Food Collective, we work with 20 different counties across the entire network, and it cuts right through the heart of Ohio. And in those 20 counties, we have 630 agency programs and partnerships. In Delaware County, we have 15, and that may be surprising to people," McCarthy said.to create a mobile food market. Volunteers play a crucial role in making this initiative possible.

"One of the things that we hear about -- especially with Andrews House but this goes across the entire network -- our entire network is mainly volunteer-led. That's a lot of people spending their time, going into these pantries and these meal programs to help out," McCarthy said.Mel Corroto, executive director of Andrews House, highlighted that about 15,000 people live below the poverty line in Delaware County.

I think we all have experienced the cost of food going up and just the cost of all living expenses; and, especially in Delaware County, housing has gone up. Utilities have gone up. So, having good quality fresh produce is just really important to the quality of life here in Delaware, and so we're happy we can provide that through our partnership," Corroto said."The food pantry has really, really helped supplement for me to be able to survive," one person said.
