LONDON - British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s UK restaurant business went into administration on Tuesday, his company said, threatening over 1,000 jobs. KPMG have been appointed as administrators of the UK-based restaurant business, but the international restaurant franchise business and his Fifteen Cornwall brand would be unaffected, the Jamie Oliver Group said in a statement.

“I am deeply saddened by this outcome and would like to thank all of the staff and our suppliers who have put their hearts and souls into this business for over a decade,” Jamie Oliver said in a statement.

Should have stuck to his Turkey Twizlers rather than meddling in politics.

I tend to assume these ventures are started with the intention of eventually letting them run down like this. Otherwise I don’t really understand why this chain started well - good quality food, good quality cooking - and then very gradually but steadily kept lowering standards.

BBC just called, they asked if it's too late to blame it on Brexit?

No big loss.... TV Cooks are ten a penny,

Sad news. jamieoliver setout to disrupt the mid level high street food market and did it. Bravo! 🙌🏼 The collapse of the restuarant side of the business, is sign of our times, that businesses need to be able transform to adapt to changing needs and market or be obsolete 👍🏼

Sad to see any restaurant chain go into adminestrone.

Never EVER put an englishman in charge of a restaurant!!!! Never put a portuguese in control of punctuality, never put a german in charge of fashion. I could go on.

Does that mean mismanagement? Not familiar with ‘Administration’ term, we call it bankruptcy Protection..

well must be retiring !

Why? Jamie forgot to sell food to the clients🤔... reserved for himself and his relatives🤔🤔

He's put more people out of jobs than the Lehman brothers.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Sorry to hear that

They are well aware of that. But then they don’t get to keep the profits and hold the people hostage on misleading truths.

When money is being put back into the economy, jobs increase, productivity becomes constant. A recession will not be as easy. Instead of being dependent on crime and violence. That will absolutely end sooner or later.

The UK needs to learn growth and stability by not using an underground sex trafficking ring. Not only because it’s violence against human rights. But it keeps the government and cooperations in control of the people financially. The people need to be the growth

This news tastes very sour indeed!😏

There’s been too many covers on too many High Streets for too long. The game is up.

I love his recipes, but he was always a bit too 'preachy' for me :B

Expanded too much too soon
