Mozambique’s National Election Commission is set to release its first preliminary results on Friday, with full results expected in two weeks.

Vote counting is being tallied district by district, with preliminary provincial results expected by Monday. The CNE will then publish the national results.

The Constitutional Council, Mozambique’s highest authority on constitutional and electoral matters, will validate and officially proclaim the final results. The electoral observer coalition Sala da Paz, in a statement, highlights significant irregularities that could cast doubt on the credibility of the elections.
