According to the proposed settlement, which has not been finalized, $30 million would go to alleged victims of the disgraced Hollywood producer, former Weinstein Company employees and creditors, and their lawyers. The remaining amount would be used toward legal fees.

By Allyson Chiu Allyson Chiu Reporter with the Morning Mix team Email Bio Follow May 24 at 1:36 AM Harvey Weinstein has reached a tentative $44 million agreement to settle lawsuits involving women who accused him of sexual misconduct, his former film studio’s board members and the New York attorney general’s office, according to reports Thursday from the Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times.

News of the proposal, which has not been finalized, was revealed Thursday during a federal bankruptcy court hearing in Wilmington, Del., Variety reported. The Weinstein Company filed for bankruptcy last year after weathering an onslaught of civil lawsuits brought forth by accusers, who alleged that Weinstein and his former company engaged in misconduct. The lawsuits include a class action filed on behalf of Weinstein’s alleged victims and a suit from the New York attorney general.

The proposed deal comes more than a year and a half after women first started accusing Weinstein of sexual misconduct. Since then, more than 80 women — a list that includes high-profile actresses and models such as Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan, Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cara Delevingne — have come forward with allegations ranging from sexual harassment and verbal abuse to rape.

The parties involved in the civil cases are expected to meet next week along with a mediator to go over additional details of the proposed agreement, Feinstein, the attorney for the creditors, told the judge, Variety reported.

Who’s paying ?

They applied for the job...then, as required, they paid for the job...so they got the job...they did the job...and they got paid for doing the job....then, years later, they got paid yet again, lots of lovely money, for voluntarily paying for the job in the first place !

Seems cheap.

Making accusations about inappropriate behavior is like buying a lottery ticket with the odds stacked in your favor.

He should be burned alive, not allowed to settle

A cynic might wonder if powerful political recipients of major donations are using position and influence in this. Think of all the pictures and whose in them. Yes very cynical and find this very troubling and double standard

we live in a country where money can buy morality? Is that the message?

He was an aggressive rapist who destroyed the lives of those he raped and the careers of those that did not succumb to him......the beast walks...

So this is all about money then? I thought this was about regaining women's dignity and making an example of predators. Wow!!

What a waste of money: I'm sure some of the girls don't think they're worth that much.

Prison time ? Or he’s to rich for prison ?

all because he couldn't keep his penis in check

This pervert is going to buy his way out his deviant behavior. Still he’s not as bad as tRump . I believe tRump has done far more perverse thing to women.

Good! So when is the sentencing?

No jail time? Of course not, he’s Jewish.

44 million is nothing for a former film mogul

Harvey Weinstein accusers reach $44M deal over alleged sexual misconductAttorneys representing claims against Harvey Weinstein, his company and former associates have reached a $44 million settlement to resolve civil lawsuits over his alleged sexual misconduct. “But I’m innocent.” White liberal privilege. Why isn't he in jail for life? This is like, one of things where I believe someone should have their life ruined.
