The African National Congress NEC Subcommittee on Peace and Stability says it has deployed 10 000 trained police officials to high-crime areas to help combat heightened crime.Briefing the media at the Birchwood Conference Centre in Boksburg, ANC NEC Member Polly Boshielo reiterated that keeping communities safe remains the party’s top priority.
“This deployment is not merely about numbers but about ensuring that every South African in every community feels safe and protected. Our administration has committed to increasing the resources available to the South African Police Services. Introducing body cameras, surveillance equipment and technology that ensures accountability. Specialised units tackling gang violence, narcotics, mass killings that are happening in the Eastern Cape, extortionists and organised crime are active in hotspots.
