An Adelaide family has decided to finally sell a rare parcel of land in the city’s north that has been highly sought after for 30 years. The property at 95-101 Winzor St, Salisbury is set for auction on Tuesday after being in the hands of one family for more than 60 years. Harris Real Estate agent Tom Hector said the family put up the 1.2ha block up for sale after their parents passed away. He said they were approached with many offers over a 30-year period, but declined to sell until now.
“There’s very few parcels of land left of more than 1000m2 in the northern corridor of Adelaide,” Hector said. “It has services supplied and it is close to shopping centres and schools.” Salisbury, 13km north of Adelaide CBD, has experienced a 22 per cent increase in house prices in the past 12 months, setting the median price of a home at $610,000. The Winzor St block has a three bedroom family home built in 1955 that is around the corner from both Riverdale and Salisbury Downs Primary Schools.
