TOKYO — President Rodrigo Duterte arrived here Tuesday night to attend an international business forum and meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to fortify further Manila’s ties with Tokyo. Duterte’s plane landed 9:52 p.m. local time at the Haneda International Airport. Duterte was welcomed by Philippine Ambassador to Japan Jose Laurel V and Deputy Chief of Mission Eduardo Meñez as well as Japanese Foreign Minister Toshiko Abe and Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koji Haneda. Part of the President’s four-day working visit here is his participation as keynote speaker at Nikkei’s 25th International Conference on the Future of Asia, which would be held here on May 30-31.
