Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys has strongly criticised what she described as a "compensation culture" which she said is costing businesses across the country.

"People need to accept that and we need to change this culture because there is a culture in this country that says when you have an accident it's everyone's fault but your own." Deputy Murphy said: "The Maria Bailey fiasco this week has once again put it back in to the spotlight and while I am sure it is hugely embarrassing for yourself and your party collleagues, there is a much bigger picture here at play that you have to deal with".

Deputy Calleary asked who was going to stand up for small and medium sized enterprises against the strength of the insurance industry. Ms Humphreys said that two other pieces of insurance legislation have been enacted including the Insurance Amendment Act 2018 and the Central Bank National Claims Information Database.

Thank you for your comments, the compensation culture is closing small business, restricting children running in the school yard and and putting a lot of financial pressure on local communities hosting local events. Obviously Maria Bailey needs a complete new mind set.

Uff- MariaBailey's meeting with Leo is gonna be quick...

Everyday kids are getting injured in schools, in the yard, in playgrounds. No one is suing for those. This is an adult entitlement problem.

It’s going on for last 20 years and all the State has turned a blind eye The legal profession have a lot to answer for too

Do you intend expelling Maria Bailey or reporting her to the Gardai?

Wow. They really have the knifes out for Maria Bailey. However, what about Alan Farrell TD? Compo culture there too. Any knifes for him? Fine Gael really are a traitorous bunch. Just you wait Leo. Your turn will come.

Well then sort it out and stop doing the PR spin. SMES are on their knees and as per usual the Government is letting them down doing sweet FA to assist them in their plight.

So does taxing them to the brink of extinction.

I don't so Maria being arrested for fraudulent claims or even being chucked out of FG. So sorry but cant take a word you say seriously.

Do something about it then.
