Heard on the Street: Facebook’s move to cut commissions is a smart business move that made headlines, but will have little financial impact

Despite the surge of negative news brought on by Facebook’s political mishaps, political ads contribute relatively little to the company’s massive advertising business. According to Facebook’s Ad Library Report, which is public, ads related to “politics or issues of importance” on the platform accounted for just under $604 million in ad revenue over the last 12 months. While that likely will be higher as the U.S.
