It's Christmaaaas... too soon? Maybe as it's only November 13 but the most magical time of the year officially starts today with the opening of Nottingham's Winter Wonderland.
The six-week festive extravaganza is back promising fun, shopping, food and drink - and even if you don't want to splash the cash you can still enjoy a wander soaking up the Christmassy atmosphere around Old Market Square. Once again there's the wooden cabins stocked with quirky gifts and treats, including jewellery, cheese, scarves and home accessories. Traders will be selling their wares in Long Row and Smith Row until Christmas Eve.The ever-popular ice rink and Sky Skate aerial path are back for those who enjoy getting their skates on. This year there's a brand new children's ice rink for youngsters from the age of four.
Visitors will be able to step into the flavours of Christmas with Yorkshire pudding wraps, duck fat roast potatoes, gooey melted raclette cheese, mulled wine and hot chocolate, served at the stalls and bars. The Christmas attraction, run by the Mellors Group, in conjunction with Nottingham City Council, will be open daily, except Christmas Day, until December 31.
