This is SFA's second grant call for future foods since the first grant call ended in January.

Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Koh Poh Koon said that Singapore is particularly vulnerable to global food supply disruptions.

On the opening day on Nov 18, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong announced that around $40 million had been awarded for the Seed, Research Translation and Future Foods grant calls under the Singapore Food Story R&D Programme as of mid-November. “Embracing science and technology advancements will also help us grow local agri-food capabilities and create more resilient and sustainable food systems for the future,” Dr Koh noted.

Singapore-based IHLs and public sector agencies are eligible for up to 100 per cent of the approved costs directly related to the project, while private sector entities seeking research funding must collaborate with local research organisations that are publicly funded.
