The new legislation from the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs will introduce a new, simpler common-sense approach to recycling.
The aim is to reduce the impact of homes and businesses in some areas of the country only being able to recycle certain materials, bringing a more consistent approach to recycling across the country. This exciting new plan also aims to reduce waste crime, currently costing the country around £1 billion a year.
By improving material segregation it will increase the quantity of valuable recyclable material and increase the quality of the recyclate supporting the circular economy. To achieve this Cumbria Waste have partnered with Keenan Recycling, who are the largest food waste collection business in the UK.
