The city’s Member of the Mayoral Committee for Energy, Xanthea Limberg, says all the 500 000 prepaid meters in Cape Town have been updated.“City-supplied customers who are uncertain of their software update from KRN1 to KRN2 are able to check by simply entering the code 1844 6744 0738 4377 2416 on their prepaid meter’s keypad. The screen will display one of two messages: 1 means the update is required, 2 means the meter has already been updated.
Meanwhile, Electricity and Energy Minister Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa says there will be no extension for prepaid electricity consumers to re-code their meters should they fail to do it by November 24. Ramokgopa briefed the media on the pre-paid meter re-coding and the Integrated Resource Plan yesterday.
The minister said power utility Eskom has gone over and above to inform consumers about the upgrades.Follow the Sun I Walking with the lions at Ukutula Game Reserve
