Winterfest News

George Square,Christmas

Honouring an annual Glasgow Live tradition, we headed to the Winterfest at George Square to see how far our £20 would take us – and unsurprisingly, it wasn't very far.

The countdown to Christmas Day is officially on and here in Glasgow, we know how to put on a show with George Square and St Enochs Square both officially transformed by the Winterfest extravaganza.

The set-up in George Square features everything from stalls to buy gifts, rides and attractions, food vendors and the all important covered bar to grab a drink. As part of a now annual tradition, we took £20 to Glasgow Winterfest at George Square to see just how far it would stretch. The Drop Tower and Big Wheel were obvious draws but at £9 and £7.50 a go respectively, it felt like too much of a dent on our limited budget.

From there we wanted to get a drink and couldn't resist a mulled wine which set us back £5 and, if we are honest, could maybe have been better spent on what looked like a tastier hot chocolate – but you live and learn.
