Great Wall Motors bolsters its UK presence with a new range of hybrid SUVs, beginning with a Kia Sorento rival

Great Wall Motors, the company behind the Ora Funky Cat, will add a second brand to its UK portfolio next year with the introduction of SUV brand Haval. Having launched the Ora brand with the Funky Cat electric hatchback in 2022 , GWM is now moving to “provide a wider choice for customers, as it enhances its overall product offering”. Previously officially named GWM Ora, the company will now rebrand as simply ‘GWM’ in the UK, with all its dealers adopting a new look to suit by mid-february.

GWM says the Jolion Pro has already “proven hugely successful in markets like Australia”, and promises further details of UK specification in the coming weeks. The company will be hoping that the addition of a new line of hybrid SUVs will boost its sales footprint in the UK, having sold just 3000 examples of the Ora 03 (née Funky Cat since it launched two years ago.
