The Broad Street Market Alliance group assembled for the last time for the year to announce the latest updates in the reconstruction of the historic brick building."A year ago, we were dealing with financial issues, but now a year later, we’ve adopted a budget that makes significant investments in the market facilities," Hagarty said, sitting as the chair for a year now. "We are finally in a place of financial stability, and I think the best days are ahead for the market.
The group said it is still working with the architect on designs for the brick building, and the stone building is waiting for a heating system to be installed.As for the temporary tent, the Alliance discussed fixing the structure's thermostat so it can maintain the proper temperature in the upcoming season.
"This is the first winter that the tent has been open, and it has been about working through some of those logistical challenges," Hagarty said. The group also attempted to open discussion about electing new board members, along with initiating conversations for budget allocations for social media spending, as the board hopes to build a stronger social media presence in the upcoming year.The Alliance made it clear that the tent will remain up for the upcoming winter season ahead, if weather permits, with usual operation hours Thursday through Saturday.
