He was a negative defender at both positions — according to the outs above average metric, at least — but was slightly better at first than third in a smaller sample size.
He said Friday that “wherever you put me, I’m good” and that he doesn’t mind playing designated hitter either. He had a .748 OPS at DH in 26 games last season for the Marlins.
