A Macy’s spokeswoman said the flagship itself was not impacted by the fire and that the store opened for business as usual on Monday at 9 a.m. Outside, some of the vendor booths were damaged, but most were not and those will be open for business on Tuesday. The market was scheduled to run through Jan. 3.Urbanspace is the creator of the Holiday Shops at Bryant Park Winter Village, Union Square Holiday Market and Columbus Circle Holiday Market.
Macy’s also has a holiday market by Urbanspace inside its flagship, across the mezzanine, by the elevator portals, and on the ninth floor. More than 30 businesses there set up stalls selling gifts, food and beverages including stroopwafels from Amsterdam, and handcrafted chocolates from Italy, among other holiday-oriented products. Macy’s leases the space to the vendors.
Macy’s also has a shop at The Holiday Shops at Bryant Park in one of the glass booths on Sixth Avenue.
